The Community Council is holding a meeting to discuss this year’s rally at the end of June on Monday, 7th July at 7.30pm in the Colintraive Village Hall.

Community Council Update on the Repowering of Cruach Mhor: Lessee is Announced

On Monday 9th June 2025 at the Glendaruel Village Hall, an update was given on the future lessee of the Cruach Mhor windfarm which is now known to be Belltown Power. This is a Bristol-based organisation which has an existing relationship with Forestry and Land Scotland. It operates four other sites in Scotland and several southern sites, with a mixed portfolio of wind, photovoltaic and hydro power. Their bid was the most financially competitive out of the 18 total bidders for the lease of the windfarm which renews in 2029.

Housing Need and Demand Survey

Argyll and Bute Council are launching the Argyll and Bute Housing Need and Demand (HNDA) – Household Survey in preparation for their next Housing Need and Demand Assessment.

The survey is being conducted by Research Resource on behalf of the Council, and seeks to obtain information from households about their housing needs, properties and neighbourhoods they live in.

To make sure that the results of the study are accurate, Research Resource need as many households as possible to participate across all our Housing Market Areas. The researchers will contact random households directly across the area during June, July and August 2025. Interviews will be undertaken by telephone on the islands and in more remote areas, and on a face-to-face basis on the mainland. 

Households who would like to participate can arrange an interview at a convenient time, through various channels.

Water Scarcity Scheme

For those on a private water supply Argyll & Bute Council are operating a temporary water scarcity scheme.

Residents not provided by ScottishWater can collect supplies of bottled water for domestic use from designated Council offices.

To access this service please contact Environmental Health via envhealth@argyll-bute.gov.uk and provide your name, address and contact details, together with the property/s affected and they will be in touch.

The Council’s website is currently being updated with information about this.
