Update on CMAL’s Infrastructure works at Colintraive Ferry Terminal.

George Leslie Limited completed dredging works between 12 and 15 October 2026. These works provide the under-keel clearance required for the new fully electric vessels.

Enabling works for the new shore power infrastructure are planned to begin in November 2026. The programme includes a concrete plinth for the cable management system, a maintenance platform on the existing pier, foundations for a new low-voltage switch room and SSEN substation, and new underground chambers, ducts and cable supports.

During these works, the ferry service will operate from the secondary slipway approximately 50 metres south of the terminal building. The current timetable is expected to continue, with only minor disruption around the port.

ABB is expected to deliver the shore power electrical works in spring 2027. We will share further information about the construction programme and any changes affecting port users as the project progresses.
